High of page The First-aid Box
The first-aid box contains mainly meds against headaches, tommy aches, minor problems such as cuts, burns, blisters that is dressings, a few creams and oinments, disinfectant, eye-drops and so on.
We are not carrying around a white case with a red cross on it, we are sharing out the lot between our four bags on account of the weight and to avoid finding oneself limited to just a pair of pants in case a bag is searched or stolen! We won't forget essential little implements such as a nail-clipper, a pair of scissors, tweezersor gloves.
Our thanks to Doc Cyprien (de la Mancha )for his advice.
  Stings, bites and injections
We check our vaccinations against the yellow fever and other usual illnesses we sometimes may tend to forget. Concerning paludism, malaria, ..?.. whatever the size and origin of the mosquito, we take the risk and not the treatments , those being and too heavy and difficult to cope with and not recommended on long term anyway. Besides, one of our pals' experience with paludism lead us to get in touch with The Pasteur Institute for information about major risk areas…. Our few days' incursion into The Amazon region means a "compulsory" treatment for over one month ! http://www.pasteur.fr/externe
